Well Mr. Benedikt took it upon himself to craft a 7-foot long, 52 pound model of the Mon Calamari flagship 'Home One' out of nothing but Lego bricks. As if the 30,500 bricks and $5,500 price tag ar not impressive enough, he went one step further and wired the entire model with interior AND exterior lights! In an interview with New Zealand website Stuff.co.nz, actor Jay Laga'aia, who portrayed Naboo's Captain Typho in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, expressed interest in appearing in George Lucas's upcoming live action Star Wars television series. In the interview he mentions that while fans would probably expect him to reappear as noble Typho, he actually has an interest in playing multiple roles...that is of course, if they are offered to him. |

To wrap up our look back at the 2009 Toy Fair, we take a long, last look at what the folks from Lego had on display. As expected, Star Wars was a huge part of their presentation, but other lines were represented just as well. Whether your taste favors archaeologists, bionic warriors or patty-flipping sea sponges, these brickmasters always have you covered! So check out the The report and all of its visual goodness and remember, the 2010 Toy fair is only 49 weeks away! |
After checking out the future of Star Wars collecting at this year's Toy Fair, we here at The Jawa though it might be fun to take a trip back in time and take a look at the toys that launched all of this. So to do that, we proudly present to you our latest project...The Vintage Showcase. The Vintage Showcase will be an ongoing feature which will continue to grow until we have covered every vintage figure (and perhaps more?) produced by Kenner during the late 1970's and mid 1980's. We decided to kick-start this project with the same four 'Early Bird' figures that launched the original line in 1978. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca and R2-D2 are on display in all of their original glory. But this is more than a picture gallery. Each figure will have it's own individual page complete with every detail a collector needs to know. Want to know which weapons a figure came with or if a certain figure has any variants? Then this is the place for you. So come on in, take a trip back in time, check out what we have to offer and let us know in our forums what you think. We hope you enjoy this new addition to the site as much as we do. |
