INTRODUCTION
Here we have a different type of pre-production item in the form of a boxed sign-off sample for the micro machines fan club exclusive mail-away Darth Vader and Executor. The packaging along with the figure and ship appear to be production however the box is un-numbered out of 60,000 production units. The shipping box for this item has a blank label marked as "Address Label" showing the location of the recipient's address. There is another sticker on this side marked "ATM (SUB 1)" and the 1 has been written in pen. There is a third sticker on the bottom of the shipping box that is the sign off sticker. It has been stamped with a date next to the recv'd line and also contains lines for the vendor, signature, and a place to mark if the sample is accepted or rejected. In my opinion, this sample was most likely to be used to approve the method of shipping these before they were sent out to people. Definitely an interesting part of the production process.
