The History for TheJawa.com

A great man named Stephen Palmer founded a popular Star Wars website known as TheJawa.com over ten years ago. The primary goal of the website was to accurately price and identify Star Wars toys & collectibles for fans across the world. The Jawa team primarily used checklists to cover this, however the daunting task of updating price guides seemed to get passed over and finding a volunteer to update them was a task in itself. Over the years the names and faces changed, but TheJawa.com would continue to be a mainstay in the Star Wars community.

The gentleman who would lead and maintain the site for several years never lost his love for Star Wars, but Chris Delvecchio instead would focus his energy to helping the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and doing his best to help find a cure for his son Christopher. We know he'll always remember his Jawa years fondly. We thank him for all his did while he was here, and wish him the best on his journey and there will always be a light for him at our Sandcrawler. May the Force be with him and his family!

In 2007, a former staple of the Jawa / Sandtrooper community returned and made an offer to purchase TheJawa.com. All responsible parties agreed it would be in the best interest of the community to sell the website to Chris Spice, who would re-merge the forum and bring the community back together again.

However, what to do with the website? Does the hobby really need another collectors site? Probably not a new one, but we felt we should take care of the sites that have history. We are going to do our best to bring the original goals of the site to fruition. Until then we will use it as the ultimate weapon alongside www.sandtroopers.com as we have a assembled a team of dedicated fans to implement new features to keep collectors interested and try to assist our armored partners any way we can.

Our team will focus on a many different facets of Star Wars collecting. Our ever-expanding galleries will feature highly-detailed frames that focus on several different lines of toys including vintage figures, bobblehead dolls, Galactic Heroes, and the Titanium line of miniature vehicles. We also plan to showcase book reviews, question and answer sessions with vendors like Hasbro, prototypes and custom figures and dioramas created by our talented forum members. We also plan to bring you coverage of as many events as possible including conventions, parades and even the occasional interview with an actor, writer or artist from the Star Wars universe.

We look forward to the future of TheJawa.com as we will continue to scavenge the galaxy, spreading peace and creativity while uniting collectors worldwide. Utinni!
